Samuel Godfrey Golladay

2nd Virginia Infantry
Company H (Letcher Riflemen)
Stonewall Brigade

Son of Benjamin Golladay and Mary Smith

Samuel was seventeen years old and not married when he enlisted on 14 April 1862 at New Market.

He was shown as "Absent without Leave" from 18 May 1862 until 16 February 1863, and was sentenced by court martial to forfeit one month's pay and perform 30 day of hard labor.

Samuel was admitted to the General Hospital at Charlottesville on 26 April 1863. Epilepsy was listed as the reason. He was given a medical furlough on 05 June 1863 and was still shown as absent sick until December 1863. Because he had not returned from his medical leave by 16 January 1864, he was listed as deserted.

Samuel married in October, 1870.
